Les Království

The most beautiful reservoir in Bohemia is undoubtedly Les Království near Dvůr Králové nad Labem. The reservoir is one of the most popular ‘instagram spots’ – from afar, you can recognise it unmistakably by its red–roofed towers. The reservoir also attracts visitors to its viewpoint or the exhibition in the former dam keeper’s house.

Hájemství

The educational trail through the Kingdom Forest takes you to Hájemství, where you can stop at the environmental education center. This forest area aims to deepen visitors' connection with nature. Here, you will find, for example, a tree calendar, wooden sculptures, birdhouses, and an educational trail. You can extend the route to the pilgrimage church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary, which is connected by the Stations of the Cross. The circular route from the dam and back is approximately 11 kilometers long.

Zvičina

From Hájemství, head to Zvičina. We will leave it up to you whether you walk or pedal your way.
Zvičina is the highest peak of the Zvičina-Kocléřov ridge. At its top stands Raisova chata, which is typical for its turning dome from where you can look around the surroundings, and the church of St. Jan Nepomucký. Zvičina is said to have the most beautiful view of the Krkonoše Mountains – and there must be something to it, because more than 150 years ago the Czech poets K. J. Erben, J. Vrchlický, K. H. Mácha and, of course, the writer K. V. Rais, who came from nearby Bělohrad, used to come there to get inspired. However if you have a restless nature rather than a poetic air, you will probably be more interested in trying paragliding or signing up for one of the races that start there – for example, the O Žižkův štít tourist march or Václav Dobeš Memorial.
