Krkonoše, Podkrkonoší

OUR TIP: Stezka korunami stromů

Krkonošská vyhlídka + hrad Pecka

The last two days of the trip are ahead of you, so it pays to slow down a bit. Start with a view of the region from the Krkonoše viewpoint. From there, head to Pecka Castle, where a tour of the castle awaits you together with a knight’s hall, black kitchen and cellar. The Pecka swimming pool will refresh you on hot days, but it will also provide accommodation in cabins, quad bikes rental and refreshments.

Borovnice

You can enjoy a nice walk if you go from there to Borovnice, where there is a replica of the original windmill. It is not open every day, but it is worth it when it is – so try to get a guided tour.

Dolní Branná

From Borovnice you can proceed to Dolní Branná, where the Skiing Museum is located. It is housed in a charming log cabin, to which a local ski fan donated his collection of skiing, skating and tobogganing artefacts. There is also a pleasant café where you can sit – whether it is summer or winter.

DID YOU KNOW... that the Ski Museum also includes a Hall of Fame? Try to guess which important sports personalities come from this region. They include the medallists from the European, World and Olympic Championships.

The hike from the parking lot near Pecka Castle to the Krkonoše viewpoint and back is approximately 4 kilometers long.
